In the oil and gas industry, the safety and efficiency of operations depend on the ability to detect and repair dangerous gas leaks. At Osten Laboratory Limited, we understand the critical importance of leak detection and repair (LDAR) services in safeguarding the environment and your bottom line. Our advanced technology and expertise position us as Africa’s leading LDAR service provider.
At Osten Laboratory, we are committed to revolutionizing how the oil and gas industry addresses the challenge of gas leaks. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, we empower our clients to tackle fugitive emissions effectively, reduce hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) emissions, and safeguard their operations.
Advanced Technology
Utilizing the latest Optical Gas Imaging (QOGI) cameras, we provide comprehensive leak surveys that detect leak sources and quantify leak volumes in real time. This data can be transmitted to clients’ cloud storage via Wi-Fi.
Our state-of-the-art equipment ensures efficient inspection of thousands of connections and fittings, enabling the detection of even the smallest leaks without the extensive downtime associated with traditional methods. As pioneers in OGI technology in Africa, we quickly and safely detect, visualize, and locate hard-to-reach and hazardous gas leaks. By making the invisible visible, we minimize costly downtime, revenue losses, and environmental impact.
Aerial Optical Gas Imaging
Osten has partnered with Workswell, an OGI manufacturer, to enhance our LDAR services through unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Our aerial OGI technology allows us to safely and efficiently detect over 400 gases and can scan large facilities, identifying fugitive emissions of greenhouse gases and other volatile organic compounds in a fraction of the time required by handheld devices. This innovation significantly improves safety and inspection efficiency, especially when scanning flare stacks, hazardous areas, and instruments at height.
1. Adherence to Environmental Regulations
With over 150 countries implementing national methane action plans, compliance with LDAR regulations is more critical than ever. In Nigeria, the NUPRC Guide 0024 – 2022 mandates operators to carryout LDAR survey half yearly with the use of optical gas imaging instruments or other approve technology.
2. Prevent Financial Loss
Studies indicate that operators can lose between 0.05% and 2% of gas production to leaks. Early detection allows timely repairs, minimizing costs related to lost products, environmental penalties, and unplanned shutdowns.
3. Enhanced Safety
LDAR systems significantly reduce the risk of accidents, such as explosions and fires, contributing to a safer working environment in the oil and gas sector.
4. Asset Integrity
Continuous monitoring and periodic inspections of at-risk areas are vital for maintaining asset integrity in the oil and gas industry. Our OGI technology provides essential remote leak analysis for effective emergency response.
