NATURAL GAS AND COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS (CNG)
Osten Laboratory provides natural gas quality and component analysis. Natural gas contains many components other than methane. Some of these components can cause damage to your infrastructure and equipment, endanger your employees, change the market valuation of your natural gas inventories, and harm your operations. Understanding the composition of your natural gas will allow you to reduce the risk of corrosion and contamination issues, helping you to run your business more efficiently and maximize value.

Our lab tests to trace detection levels for impurities. Natural gas trace impurities include hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, oxygen, mercury, sulfur, water, and other components.

In addition to determining the composition of natural gas, Osten Laboratory can determine the physical properties such as moisture content, dew point temperature, air contamination, density, specific gravity, Wobbe Index, gas compressibility, and condensation temperatures.  Additional analyses of contaminants in the natural gas that may affect pipeline distribution, pipeline corrosion, deterioration of combustion equipment, and combustion characteristics include reduced sulfur compound odorants, particulate matter, metals, siloxanes, and condensable organic material.  The analysis for specific organic chemicals enables the condensation dew point to be calculated.
